Ministry of Culture and Tourism Main Building

The building, currently used as the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, is along the Atatürk Boulevard in Ankara across the Opera House. Designed by architect Arif Hikmet Koyunoğlu (1893-1982) in the first national architectural style, the building was constructed between 1926 and 1927.The building was first allocated to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs after its construction, to the Ministry of Customs and Monopoly in 1952, and to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism respectively. Sayka has prepared the architectural survey, restitution and architectural conservation projects of the building within the framework of universal conservation principles.
